The Food and Drug Administration recently approved a new test methodology for testing the samples of novel Coronavirus which can give results in 45 minutes. This is a breakthrough for testing the patients in emergency rooms, where a doctor needs to know the patient status. In the emergency room it is necessary to find out if the patient is infected with the novel Coronavirus, in those situations this test will be used for fast diagnosis.

According to the reports this test will be available for limited used in case of emergency, most in the emergency rooms where doctors will be able to diagnose the patients quickly and quarantine the infected persons. This is necessary to quickly identify the infected cases and quarantine them as soon as possible. In those situations this test will be very useful.

According to the reports this test is developed by the biotechnology company Cepheid, the testing procedure is designed to give the results in 45 minutes and moreover it does not required to be processed in a laboratory. The fast testing of Coronavirus is the main objective of development of this testing system.

The new test will be primarily developed to be used in emergency rooms and hospitals. This test is not designed to be used in the doctor’s office or test the general public, reported Stat News.

The complete system which runs the new test developed by Cepheid is already in some health care facilities in US. This test works by finding the bits of virus in the patient samples. The company will start shipping more systems this week.

As of now the traditional system takes few days to come out with the rest results, which is very time killing, the new system will help doctors in diagnosing the patient in just 45 minutes.

The new test developed by Cepheid can be run outside the labs and quickly tests the patient samples.

US needs to expand the testing to even large number of people to find out the results quickly, this is very important in bringing the pandemic under control.
