The Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) manages to rope in biggest stars and make them walk in the never-watched-before look every year and this edition was no less. The LFW 2018 that started on August 22 and concluded on August 26 was a star-studded affair and was also the talk of the tinsel town.

The last leg of the fashion extravaganza on Sunday witnessed some of the most attractive walks and that included Lisa Haydon, Diana Penty, Sonu Sood, Kalki Koechilin, Hema Malini, Esha Deol, and many others. But the high point of the show was Kareena Kapoor Khan, who left many spellbound, with her very stunning holographic off-shoulder gown donned with nude make-up. The diva was displaying a creation of ace designer Monisha Jaising from her latest collection ‘Shades of a Diva’.

Hema Malini and Esha Deol were seen sashaying in vibrant traditional attires designed by Sanjukta Dutta. Hema looked her elegant best in multicoloured silk saree completed with kamarbandh, earrings and bangles. Esha on the other hand flaunted a white skirt with pink wide border paired with a pink blouse and heavy dupatta tied with a wide belt. The mother-daughter duo had big Bindi, Maang Tika and Gajra as the common accessories. After the appearance, both arrived backstage for photo-op and interaction with media.

Hema said that she was glad to walk for a designer, who is trying to empower Assam women and that she would promote Esha’s upcoming flick cakewalk. Esha left in a Huff when she was interrupted midway while talking and Hema followed soon after her.

Malaika Arora was spotted on Day 5 of the LFW with rumoured boyfriend Arjun Kapoor and his sisters Jahnvi and Khushi in the front row. They cheered Varun Dhawan, who walked in a three-layered sherwani and an unconventional look for designer Kunal Rawal. Bipasha Basu in Red and White Ruceru ensemble, inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s drama Chitrangda and Kangana Ranaut in embellished midnight-blue dress also looked edgy. The parents-to-be Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi also took to the runway for designer Payal Singhal, the former flaunting the baby bump. The vivacious Jacqueline Fernandez, who was a showstopper for Ashish N Soni, managed to make a mark in her vintage hairdo and one-shoulder dress that looked like a half jumpsuit.

The Lakme Fashion Week hosted 90 designers showcasing the best talents in Indian fashion fraternity. The initial performance by Cirque du Soliel, a live entertainment company based in Canada set the mood for the the grandeur. They gave a sneak peak of their eclectic show Bazaar through power packed sequences of dance involving cube manipulators, acrobat-duo, hula-hoop experts and skater-duo, etc. The finale of the five-day fashion gala also saw the launch of Kareena’s first make-up line 'Kareena Kapoor Khan by Lakmé Absolute' that evolved her from a long associated brand ambassador to a co-creator with Lakme Absolute.
