Apple has announced during the conference that new update will work have a feature which can turn the phone in car key.

BMW has become the first in its motor car segment to offer support for a digital key. The digital key will help the car in unlocking and igniting the engine. BMW will be using the iPhone as the digital key for the car.

During the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) the company has cleared that BMW will be the first company to have an iPhone as the digital key of the car. The phones having the latest update of iOS 14 will be able to use their phones as the key for the car.

BMW has not only became the first car company to have the digital key but it has also become the first company to have the fully integrated iPod in its cars and the company to have wireless CarPlay.

For the digital key, the iPhones can store the key in the Wallet. The key is very simple mot operate as the user just has to tap on the screen to unlock the car and for starting the engine the phone should be placed at the phone tray and then the user can press the button in the car and start the car.

Using the BMW smartphone app the user can set up the car key in just a few minutes and then for safety the user can share the car key with 5friends. So in case if the phone has stopped working the user can unlock the carby using other phones too. Other than this by using the app the user can adjust the top speed and add a limitation on the top speed and can adjust the radio of the car with the phone app.

The new BMW 5 series will be having the new feature of digital Key which can also work over the NFC. The BMW 5 Series cars will be the first cars to have these features.  Apple says it uses the new U1 ultra-wideband chip instead of just NFC.

Other than this the user can also have some more features which will keep the user on the safer side in using the Digital key. The phone will have a power reserve for 5 hours after being discharged so that the user doesn’t face any trouble when the phone turnoff.

The new Digital key will be available in 45 different countries and will be available in the cars manufactured after July 1. The features will make life a bit easier for the car user as it will be easing many functions.

CarPlay will now be available in every car that is compatible with the Digital key.  The user can plan a trip earlier or can even choose the point to reach and CarPlay will do the rest. It will take the user to the destination by using the shortest distance and less time
