SHILLONG: Tue, 15 Oct 2024 23:16, by: Deepak Kumar

In a troubling incident, local police are under fire for allegedly refusing to register a First Information Report (FIR) in a domestic violence case where the accused are two high-profile individuals. The two men involved are reportedly (Dr. Ashok Roy) a Medical Officer  at a Govt. Hospital and a second son (Dr. Manoj Roy) commandant in the Assam Rifles.

The victim, the mother of the accused, has reportedly endured ongoing abuse but claims that her attempts to seek justice. Our reported talked to the victim and her saying that SHILLONG SADAR POLICE STATION In-charge is not registering FIR. She has been waiting in the Police start since morning, According to the victim; the influence of her sons' professional standing has played a significant role in the police's reluctance to act.

Victim Daughter sent several emails to the authorities in Police department but still case is not registered yet.
Local residents are not saying ready to help the victim due to High-Profile sons. This scenario is raising concerns about the fairness of the justice system and the misuse of influence in shielding the accused from legal consequences. Victim asked media to help her in getting justice for her. She is requesting police to register FIR and take action against High-Profile Sons.

This is a clear case of abuse of power. Domestic violence cases should be treated with the utmost seriousness, regardless of the perpetrator's status. No one should be above the law.

As pressure mounts, calls for higher authorities to intervene are growing, with demands for an impartial probe into the allegations and for justice to be served without interference from external influences.
