India is celebrating 73rd Independence Day today; Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurls national flag on the ramparts of historical Red Fort. In his Independence Day speech on the occasion of India’s 73rd Independence Day from the ramparts of Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the setting up of ‘chief of defence staff’ post and also mentioned the dangers of population explosion.  In his 90-minute speech, the PM said that the “population explosion” is dangerous for coming generations.

He said that the Modi government would make all possible efforts to encourage investors and create job opportunities in country. He said wealth creators needed to be honored and he further said “If wealth is not created, how will wealth be distributed,”

Regarding water conservation he said water conservation should be on the top priority.

To increase the travel section he appealed Indians to visit tourist’s destinations within the country at least once every year instead of going abroad.

PM Modi said his new government is working as a fast pace and had taken several key decisions with thin 10 weeks of formation.

He further spoke about scraping of of ‘discriminatory’ Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution. He further said that ‘triple talaq’ had delivered “Muslim mothers and sisters from a life of constant fear”.

PM Modi said that his new government removed away provisions of Articles 370 and 35A in within 70 days what previous government could not in 70 years.

PM Modi further said that it is time now to discuss “one nation one poll”.

On the issue of nepotism PM Modi said that his government tried to get it. He further added that the new government sacked several people. “Let them go about whatever business they were involved in, but they are not needed in the government,” Modi said.

Modi further said that his government is taking steps to improve the ease of living and ease of doing business. He reiterated to invest Rs. 100 trillion to create modern infrastructure to create more jobs.

The PM Modi new government objective is to make Indian a $5-trillion economy in next five years.  He said that the India should make product for global market with “zero defect, zero effect”.
