Indian National Congress releases first list of its candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019 which is expected to held in April-May. Party chief Rahul Gandhi will contest from Amethi Lok Sabha seat and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to contest from Rae Bareli. Congress on Thursday released first list of 11 candidates for Lok Sabha elections 2019.
Earlier there was speculation that Priyanka Gandhi could contest from the Rae Bareli seat but with the release of list of candidates it is clear that Priyanka Gandhi is not going to contest from Rae Bareli seat. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will contest from Rae Bareli seat, she is being elected from Rae Bareli seat for the last terms.
Congress finalised first of its candidates for Lok Sabha elections 2019 in a meeting chaired by Rahul Gandhi on Thursday. List finalised names of 15 candidates; 11 from Uttar Pradesh and four from Gujarat.

According to the sources Election commission of India is likely to announce the dates of upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in coming week and elections is likely to be held in 7-8 phased in April-May this year.
